Henri Kuikens

If you, like us, feel the need to confess your undying love to Henri Kuikens, just be sure to address your love letter to Jesse not Henri.

The to-die-for fabric art brand is the textile label of Cape Town artist Jesse Breytenbach, who named it after the Afrikaans word for spider plants (Hen-en-Kuikens) to distinguish it from her illustration work.

Breytenbach’s labour-intensive printing techniques using hand-carved, individual linoleum blocks and water-based silkscreen ink mean that patterns can be endlessly varied and the quality is top-notch.

Locally sourced cotton, linen and hemp are used to create bags, buttons, cushions and more.
