First thing’s first: for all those who need a bit of help with Afrikaans 101, the name Lapolap means “material on material”. The company is all about combining the most beautiful fabrics they can find to create elegant décor and kitchen items.  They use knitting, embroidery, patchwork, crochet and all those other techniques once mistakenly dismissed as the sole province of a bygone life to create things like tea towels, lavender heart sachets, cushions, pillowcases, table runners and serviettes, baskets,  earrings, mittens, and oven gloves.

Lapolap owner Lourette du Preez’s focus is on cosy, unpretentious and most importantly, delightfully pretty handmade products.
